Updated 8/24/15. September is National Skin Care Awareness Month. Throughout my career as an esthetician and skin care expert, I have always known that people are looking for solutions to their skin care problems, but not always in the way of skin care products. They seek expert advice on how to care for their skin with practical, common-sense tips such as “Where should eye cream be applied?” to “How often should I be exfoliating my skin?” So I created National Skin Care Awareness Month to share the knowledge I have learned as a skin care expert and celebrity esthetician with 25 years of hands-on experience working with skin.
I’m not just a sales person who wants to make a sale, I simply love helping others. My passion is what ultimately led me to start my career in the first place, so creating this month is just an extension of who I am, my belief system and my passion for giving back. I encourage you to read my over 600 blog posts here and use them as a resource to help you find the solutions you need to solve your skin care problems. Education for how to care for your skin, along with using results-driven skin care products formulated for the unique needs of your skin (take our Skin Type Quiz here), is what will ultimately give you healthy, clearer, beautiful skin.
What’s the best mask or peel for your skin type?
- Clay-based masks work best for oily, acne-prone skin in need of oil absorption. Recommended: Energizing Cleansing Masque
- Cream-based masks work best for dry skin. Recommended: Pure Radiance Cream Mask
- Gel-masks work best for sensitive skin due to their naturally cold temperatures. Recommended: Bio Calm Repair Masque
This year, we’re encouraging our clients and customers to be ‘skin care aware’ by boosting your daily regimen with an at-home mask or exfoliating peel. Incorporating either of these into your routine is something that is too often overlooked by many but it can greatly increase the effectiveness of your existing products while leaving skin healthier and more radiant.
Are you #ImSkinCareAware? Help celebrate Skin Care Awareness month by posting a photo of yourself wearing a mask or peel, and share using tag #ImSkinCareAware, like I did here. Want to know how to give your skin a facial at home? Read this post for instructions.
