Avoid Dairy Products If You Are Prone To Acne Cysts

Skin Care Tip: Avoid dairy products if you are prone to acne cysts. Dairy can cause breakouts? Yes, it certainly could be the culprit. When you develop cystic breakouts (those hard, painful, underground blemishes that linger for weeks) on the chin, jaw line and neck area it might be a sign that you’re getting more dairy in your diet than your body can tolerate. Your skin acts as an excretory system to get rid of things that your body is not in agreement with, so when you get too much dairy (and since dairy is naturally harder to digest) it comes out in the form of cystic blemishes in the lower area of the face.

The best way to determine if your acne cysts are directly related to your intake of dairy is to completely cut dairy out of your diet for two weeks. If you don’t develop any new cysts and you normally would have by now, then this might solve your problem! It doesn’t mean that you cannot eat any dairy at all, you would then start to slowly introduce dairy back into your diet and if you start breaking out again, that’s your body’s tolerance level.

For cystic acne, you really only three options available…

1. Get a cortisone shot injected into the cyst by a dermatologist. (It works, but who has the time to wait around at a doctor’s office?)

2. Dab on Renée Rouleau Anti-Cyst Treatment immediately when the cyst forms and it will dramatically reduce the infection and cut the healing time at least in half. (It’s truly a miraculous product to reduce cystic blemishes.)

3. Try cutting out your dairy and see if that improves the condition.

In my 25 years of being an esthetician, I have cured many, many of my clients acne simply by suggesting they reduce or cut out their dairy intake.

  1. If someone has very severe cystic acne, it’s best to avoid the facial massage portion but everything else can be beneficial.

  2. I have heard that people who develop cystic acne from time to time should not have facials. Is this true?

  3. Hi Eileen,

This is definitely a different type of situation than cystic acne blemishes. Your doctors would be the ones to ask about that.

  4. My oncologist and family doctor, I am 58, said I was cystic. I am going vegan, and my question was, do you have any thoughts on how this might effect these annoying lumps I have formed over the later years, in my jaw and legs and breast and upper arms. Some I have have removed surgically, and of course the breast ca I had a lumpectomy. Probably started out as a cyst that got dangerously infected. Thank you. Eileen Hutson

  5. Hi Michelle,

There is obviously some kind of infection under there. Some cysts can eventually come to the surface, but most often they stay under and are very painful. But again, there is definitely infection and it’s hard to say why you get them. You might try cutting out your dairy for two weeks just to see. Especially because you drink it daily. I also would highly recommend you get our Anti-Cyst because you can also use it on the skin as a preventative treatment in the areas you are prone to getting them.

  6. Well i have had these bumps start forming recently… and yes i drink milk daily and i did start on Yaz 3 months ago and i also started dating someone after a long time not… so i was thinking it was just irritation from his stubble… but then we wouldn’t see each other for a while and i would still get them days after we had last seen each other. I started to think they were cytic acne cuz i was told it can happen after starting BC pills due to the change in hormones. But… after reading that they don’t form a whitehead i’m now more confused! could it just be and irritated hair folicule? cuz it does eventually come to a head but not really to the point of exposing unless pressure is added… i’m so confused..

  7. Thanks for this… I never used to get cystic acne and I had a big idea that it started since I got on organic milk (I spent the last 3 years drinking only soy milk)… I’m willing to cut it out again, my problem is the lack of vitamins and minerals i’ll be getting again (i’ll have to go on supplements again) but i guess its a small price for nice skin

  8. Hi Renee:

This is regarding the cystic acne, I have cut out dairy products and I still breakout in the spots you mentioned (jawline, etc.), would whey protein also count as dairy? I am 44 yrs. old and very oily skin and breakout with acne cysts really bad. You would think at my age it would stop – LOL

    Help!!!

    • I’m sorry you still struggle with that, how frustrating! I wouldn’t think the whey protein would cause this, but it’s always worth cutting it out and see if there is improvement. It could certainly be hormonal for you and so using our Anti-Cyst Treatment a few nights a week along the jawline will really help prevent them.

  9. I recently did a 10-day cleanse (the Master Cleanser w/ lemon juice, maple syrup & cayenne) and found that chronic cysts on my lower cheeks and jawline seem to have cleared up! In fact, going into the cleanse I had one large one which healed almost entirely by around day 5 (usually they last for at least 3 weeks). I’m not sure if it was the whole cleanse itself or the lack of my usual dairy intake which cleared it up.

I would also like to comment that your Anti-Cyst Treatment has been the only product which seemed to accelerate the healing process when I had cystic acne before the cleanse. Obviously, I can’t live on lemonades all my life, so hopefully entering back into the world of eating with an eye on my dairy intake will keep my skin cyst-free. However, I’ll keep using the product a couple times per week on my jawline because I really trust it for prevention.

    Thanks!
