It’s been almost three years now since I started blogging and with over 600 skin care blog posts under my belt (yes, over 600), here are my ten personal favorites, in no particular order.
Why did I choose these blog posts?
Working with skin hands on for 25 years as a celebrity esthetician, I’ve been asked a lot of questions about skin and time after time, I’m often dispelling myths that consumers have been lead to believe were true. I would have to say these are my favorite posts because they contain tips and expert advice that I find myself repeating over and over again.
I hope you find them helpful in giving you the knowledge to achieve healthy, clearer and beautiful skin. (Read all 600 blog posts here!)

I’ve asked before, but I don’t mind asking again. 😉
Your thoughts on chemical vs physical sunscreens.
(And to go further: mexoryl, tinosorb, etc that I keep hearing provide much higher uva protection/high ppd)
Thanks!

Since I don’t make sunscreens with those ingredients, I do not consider myself an expert on those. I believe the main goals with sunscreen is to find one that is broad-spectrum, a minimum of SPF 30 and most importantly, one that is compatible with your skin type so that you feel comfortable applying it GENEROUSLY. As you have probably heard me talk about before, it’s not so much about the number but how generously you apply it. So for example, if you’re acne prone, using a sunscreen that feels a bit too heavy on the skin won’t be doing your skin any good if you’re only applying it sparingly. Sensitive skin types have a hard time finding ones that don’t sting and burn their skin or eyes so chemical-free ingredients like Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide work well. Our Daily Protection SPF 30 is so good for sensitive, oily and acne prone skin. https://www.reneerouleau.com/DailyProtectionSPF30.aspx Both chemical and physical sunscreens are very effective, just find one that meets my guidelines!
