Celebrity Esthetician Renée Rouleau Talks Skin With Actress Sofia Vergara!

Renee Rouleau with Sofia Vergara

What a pleasure it was when I recently got to meet with actress Sofia Vergara from ABC’s hit show, “Modern Family.” She’s a lovely woman – and one with gorgeous skin.

In consulting with Sofia about her skin care, I determined that at age 39, she is a skin type #6 – Normal/Anti-Aging. Which skin type are you? See our nine skin types.

(My skin care line is unique in that it is based on nine different skin types rather than the standard dry, normal and oily. I’ve never understood how skin care companies can say their line is “suitable for all skin types” when all skins have different needs.)

Here’s a picture of Sofia with our popular Triple Berry Smoothing Peel. See Sofia here.

As a skin type #6, I observed the following with Sofia’s skin.

-Produces oil in the summer, mostly in T-zone

-Skin can feel tight or dry during the winter

-Needs hydration without heavy oils or pore-clogging ingredients

-May have enlarged pores, mostly in T-zone

-May have hyperpigmentation/discoloration (Sofia does not currently experience this, but because of her Latin heritage, this may be an issue for her later on)

-Skin may look tired, in need of a glow (Because of her Latin heritage, it’s important to increase blood flow to the skin to keep it looking fresh and glowing. I suggested Sofia use the Triple Berry Smoothing Peel the night before any red carpet appearance or special event to get her skin smooth and glowing.)

-Wants to keep skin healthy and smooth (With how high definition TV shows everything, keeping skin smooth is a must for Sofia.

-Concerned about anti-aging

Sofia’s Recommended Routine:

Along with the Triple Berry Smoothing Peel, I gave her some other products from my line to use at home to help maintain the vibrancy and health of her skin. Here’s a picture of Sofia holding our popular Triple Berry Smoothing Peel. See Sofia here.

Luxe Mint Cleansing Gel is great for keeping good blood circulation in the skin to keep it glowing, without drying out her skin or feeling harsh.

Revitalizing Ginseng Toner is also good for increasing blood flow to keep skin glowing, but because it’s alcohol-free, it won’t dry out her skin. (And of course, using my gentle Toning Cloths to apply the toner is a must.)

To keep her skin even-toned and looking bright, the Vitamin C&E Treatment is a powerful blend of antioxidant vitamins to protect the skin cells and give a glow.

Protecting the skin from the harmful UV rays is important, so Daily Protection SPF 30 used 365 days a year will keep Sofia’s skin looking young. This formula isn’t greasy and won’t clog the pores so it will feel lightweight on her skin.

Using an eye cream daily is very beneficial for keeping lines and wrinkles less noticeable. Firming Eye Therapy is a great choice for Sofia since it has a powerful blend of high-performance ingredients to keep her delicate eye area looking its best.

Exfoliation (removal of surface dry skin cells) is essential for keeping the skin smooth and glowing.  Mint Buffing Beads is both gentle and effective for keeping the skin silky smooth.

Lastly, a good moisturizer is key to keeping hydration levels up in the skin so the skin stays healthy and balanced. Multi Vitamin Cream is an excellent moisturizer due to its firming and anti-wrinkle benefits. While it’s very nourishing and feels wonderful when applied to the skin, it won’t feel too heavy or greasy on Sofia’s skin.

A good daily skin care routine recommended for your skin type will give you the glowing, beautiful and healthy skin you deserve.
