  1. Hi, Rouleau!

I was using the Replenix Antioxidant Soothing Cleanser; the first ingredient being Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which was irritating my skin in conjunction with my other products. I am slowly trying to switch to your products.
I am a skin type three and have recently purchased the aloe cleansing milk. However, I am hesitant to purchase the AHA/BHA cleanser because it is near winter and my skin tends to get topically dry, and I do not want to have too many acid products in my routine. Is there another wash you would recommend that I use in the morning instead? Preferably with anti-bacterial properties?

    • Hi Genevieve! The AHA/BHA Cleanser is definitely the anti-bacterial one but it’s pretty gentle and non-drying so it might be perfecting fine for winter. Be sure to use an alcohol-free toner after cleansing to immediately deliver hydration. The other option is the Purifying Face Wash.

  2. Hi, Renee! I love your AHA/BHA Acne Cleanser–it smells wonderful and so far doesn’t over-dry my skin out or make my skin worse. I’m a 23 year old who doesn’t wear much makeup–sometimes I will if its for an event or I’ll wear BB cream for sheer coverage.
**The question I have is, if I ever do wear BB cream or light foundation, can this AHA/BHA remove most if not all makeup (lightweight/medium coverage)? Or should I use another makeup remover before hand?(I don’t want to have to use another cleanser before to remove makeup, but if that’s the case, what would you honestly highly recommend)?

    Thanks,

    Leia

    • Hello Leia! Thanks for reaching out. Yes, that cleanser, because of the gentle exfoliating acids along with the micro beadlets will effectively remove all of your makeup.

    • Perhaps our Purifying Face Wash would be good but it’s hard to say without knowing what your skin is doing. Take our Skin Type Quiz and it will suggest which cleanser is best for you.

  4. Hi this is esther i wanted to know would BHA claryfying serum work for redness ? I have oily skin and acne not cystic but i do have a lot of black heads and red around my cheeks

    • Hello Esther, No, the BHA Serum isn’t specifically for calming redness. I don’t know if you mean redness from post-breakout scars or if your redness is from dilated capillaries, such as when the skin flushes easily like after a hot shower. All redness is not equal so it’s hard for me to comment. If it’s from acne scars, then yes, the BHA Serum, due to its exfoliating properties will fade scarring.

    • It certainly wouldn’t be my first choice for cleansing but as with anything, if it works for you and you’ve gotten a positive result, then it’s not my place to say not to use it.

  6. Hi,

I was looking over the different skin types and I’m having trouble figuring out what kind I have. You see, even though I’m only 24, the skin on my forehead is VERY dry and parched to the point where I am already getting fine lines. However my cheeks+nose are very oily. On top of that, I have cystic acne breakout on my chin+jawline. So half my face would be considered ‘dry, sensitive, aging’ while the rest is on the other end of the spectrum. What would you recommend, and what type would my skin most likely fit? Thank you so much for your help!

    • I’m assuming you have taken our skin type test? If not, you can do so here. https://www.reneerouleau.com/quizzes/1/questions/1 It sounds like you could be a skin type #2. You didn’t mention how your skin is sensitive. All of our products are good for sensitive skin even though certain skin types don’t necessarily say sensitive.
