Skin Makeover Tip #8: Get Regular Professional Facials

Using a good skin care regimen at home is a necessity, but regular professional facials every 4-8 weeks can dramatically improve the results of your skin. It’s recommended to change up the types of facials regularly depending on the season or how your skin is behaving. Example: Vitamin C antioxidant facials are great during the summer to reduce aging from the sun, while exfoliating facials work well during the winter months to remove dryness caused from the heat in the house.

Happy Anniversary and Birthday to Renée Rouleau!

Fourteen years ago today in 1996, I opened my skin care spa in Dallas, Texas— on my birthday. So today is certainly a day for me to celebrate! When I had moved to Texas just three months earlier not knowing anyone to start a new business, I was uncertain if I could make it in a city where the Mary Kay brand ruled. There were lots of pink Cadillac’s!

Like any entrepreneur, I would certainly have challenges and bumps in the road through the years, but nothing that determination and hard work couldn’t overcome. And 14 years later, Renée Rouleau Skin Care is stronger than ever. Dallas has been very good to me and I love it here.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me and supported my company through the years. Despite all the choices you have for your skin, you choose Renée Rouleau and that is extremely humbling. I look forward to many more years of providing expert skin care advice, products and services to help you achieve healthy, glowing and beautiful skin. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!… Read more

What are a few of the skin conditions where Glycolic Acid can benefit?

  • Brown spots (Read more about skin discoloration)
  • Post breakout red or dark scars (Read more about fading acne scars)
  • Acne scars, blemishes, clogged pores
  • Chicken Pox scars
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

In each of these cases, the exfoliating action removes top layers of skin, forcing new collagen growth and improved elastin.   This creates more youthful, glowing skin.  Acne and fine wrinkles are essentially indents in the skin, and pigmentation is uneven color.  The refined surface after use of Glycolic Acid creates smoother, even skin tones because there is less of a visible indent and discoloration… Read more

How to Soothe a Sunburn by Skin Care Expert, Renée Rouleau

Particularly those with medium to fair skin, sunburns occur at one time or another. No one intentionally tries to get sunburned, but it sneaks up quickly and can be very painful and damaging to the skin.

Why Do Sunburns Occur?

  • Not Wearing Sunscreen: People think when it’s an overcast day, they are not at risk for potential sunburn. False! The burning UVB rays can penetrate through clouds and still put your skin at risk for sunburn. Also, when temperatures are cool, like on a fall day, people think the sun isn’t strong and sunscreen is not necessary. Wrong! The temperature outside is not an indication of how strong or weak the sun rays are… Read more
