Skin Makeover Tip #7: Go Through a Series of Light Chemical Peels

Most skin types can benefit from light chemical peels. There are many different types of peels available depending on your skin concern. Deep chemical peels are usually only performed once, but the side effects are great causing you to hibernate for a week in the house. A series of lighter chemical peels will offer you not only minimal downtime, but you’ll get a better result by treating the skin several times with the exfoliation they provide.

Renée Rouleau Skin Care Spas offer a Skin Repair Program and an Acne Repair Program. It’s a series of peels and repair treatments performed once a week for six weeks to smooth and even out the skin tone. Read about our corrective skin peel services hereRead more

How to Get Your Skin Glowing—Fast!

It’s a fact: We all want glowing skin.

But did you know that when the skin is dry, the dead skin cells are opaque and don’t reflect light resulting in dull-looking skin? To have the look of glowing skin, light must reflect off the skin to give a radiant look.

What is a mask?

Masks are products that are applied to the skin and generally left on for 10-15 minutes. They can be made of oil-absorbing clays, hydrating gels and moisturizing creams, so it’s best to use one that is suited for your skin typeRead more

Dry Skin? Learn Why Moisturizing May Not be the Solution.

All year long, especially during winter, our clients will ask, “My skin is so dry. Do I need your heaviest moisturizer?” And my response is always, “Are you exfoliating?”

It’s pretty simple. If you have dry skin, it means you have dead, dry skin cell build-up, because that is what dry skin is. So if moisturizer is layered on (in an effort to relieve dry skin) all you are doing is attempting to re-hydrate dead, dry skin cells.

If you exfoliate with a mild facial scrub or enzyme or acid, then you are removing the dry skin cells so that when you apply moisturizer, you’re hydrating the new healthy cells instead of expired ones! … Read more
