How Do Renée Rouleau Products Compare to Other Skin Care Lines?

Renee Rouleau skin care products

Updated 01/22/24. With the thousands of skin care lines available, it’s difficult to know which products are the best – especially the best for your skin and its unique needs.

Here are several points of differentiation compared to many of the skin care lines to help you decide if the Renée Rouleau products would be a good choice for you and your skin.

The Renée Rouleau line is based on nine skin types.

Hands down, this is the one area where my line is especially unique. In this day and age where everything is about ultra customization, it amazes me how many companies can still say their line is “suitable for all skin types” when all skins have different needs. How is it possible that the needs of a 60 year old woman with dry, flaky, rosacea-prone skin could possibly use the same products as a 25 year old who has oily, acne-prone skin? If you’re truly looking for results, it’s imperative that you use products exclusively formulated for the unique needs of your skin, and it all begins with my nine skin types…

When you read each of the nine skin types, you’ll notice that each type has 6-8 characteristics listed that describe that skin type. This allows the consumer to be able to truly find the perfect match for their skin needs. Find your skin type here.

When you use the recommended products, you get the synergistic effects, and therefore the best results for your skin to achieve healthy, glowing, beautiful skin. Makes sense, right? I sure think so.

The Renée Rouleau line has 50 skin care products…and growing.

Of course, having nine skin types must require each of the types to have a routine catered to the needs of that skin, and having an extensive line of products allows for this. But even my line of 65 skin care products is still not always enough, which is why I continue to come out with new formulas, as well as updating older formulas to take advantage of the latest technology. Our newest product is our Better Than Balm, while our Triple Berry Smoothing Peel was also recently updated to a new and improved formula.

As your skin changes, the Renée Rouleau line can change with you.

Another benefit of having such an extensive array of products to choose from is that as your skin changes (which it always does) there’s room to grow within the line. It’s not uncommon that someone used to be a skin type #2 and now their skin is a type #6. The skin is always changing from season to season, moving to a different city, and with hormones that come from age, so our line is very flexible that way. And truthfully, even if you’re bored and want to try something new, you can! Our clients stay with us for years and years because we’re always able to give their skin what it needs at any time in their life.

Every product is unique in its ingredients and benefits for the skin.

Many skin care lines have a theme or a story. For example, there is a company whose entire line is based on seaweed (algae) and the healing effects that it can bring to the skin. While I think seaweed can definitely be beneficial for certain types of skin conditions, what happens if you’re allergic to seaweed? (As many people can be.) Or what if your skin has other needs than what seaweed can do? While I realize that other ingredients can be added along with the seaweed to allow the product to achieve other effects, I’m just personally not a believer that having a theme among all products can give the best results. In the Renée Rouleau line, every product is its own unique formula. Sure, you’ll see some of the same ingredients carried over into a few products – but not all. So even if your skin doesn’t agree with a certain product (perhaps because of an ingredient that your skin doesn’t agree with), we have so many other products to choose from that your skin will agree with.

Here is more information about Renée Rouleau.

  1. Hi Renee I came acrossed your line when I was browsing on the web I’m in dying need of help. My skin has never been as bad as it has been since February. I was on a medication quit it cold turkey not by choice got sick which made my skin so unbalanced. My doctor said that some of the imperfections and blemishes that are popping up on my face tend to be from stress or lack of sleep. It is very very annoying which then leads to more stress more issues. I took your skin type test and I could either do a 2 or 4. I’m not sure I just don’t want to put the wrong thing on my face since this is the first time I would have ever used your line. I am desperate I don’t know what to do anymore please help me!!!!!!!

    • Hello Edna, I’m so sorry that you’re having frustration with your skin but you have most certainly come to the right place and I’m glad you too my skin type quiz. For starters, I would highly suggest you read my blog. Go through the various sections like ‘blemishes’ and ‘acne’ and read through some of those posts as they will be very educational for you. As for your skin type, it’s hard to say which one is best for you, so just pick the one that describes you the best. I would then suggest you start with either the ‘basics’ kit or the ‘essentials’ so that you can start to get clearer skin. Email customer service at any point if you need additional help. We are here for you!

  2. I was first introduced to Renee Rouleau products about 12 years ago when I visited her spa in Dallas and got a facial. What I remember most about that facial is that I walked out of that spa with the most glowing skin I have ever had…I have never looked that good without makeup on! Since then, I have used her products but have also been lured to try other skincare lines off and on. I am now returning to Renee Rouleau products for good and won’t bother trying any other skincare lines again. It is the most effective, luxurious skincare I have ever used…and it just makes you feel positive about taking good care of yourself and your skin. I love the healthy ingredients in Renee’s skincare. I am a Type 6 but I also love the Purifying Face Wash and Elderberry Toner for summer…and I can interchange without any problems at all. I am really excited to try some of the newer serums also and get glowing again!!

  3. Hi,
I am 50.. having pretty good skin, not too many wrinkles yet lol except under the eye. I have sesitive skin.. becomes imflammed from red wine ( which I love) tomato sauce.. spicy foods etc. .. and harsh products. I cannnot seem to use Retinols of any kind as they just seem to age me and make me look inflammed.. not “glowing”.

I am a sknicare addict lol, but having realized I am very sensitive.. I know not to use many of the products on the market… but.. am always looking for the best anti -aging for sensitive skin. I am currently using Dermalogica. Ultra calming… but this line does not have any real anti aging benefits. So I ask… what would make me change over to your products. I would love to try them and would love to find a anti/reversal aging product for sesitive skin… but don’t see that you have samples to order so one could try out the line.

    Thank you

  4. Hi Rene – I love your blog and your products. I’m seeing Julia for facials. She is wonderful. Do you know what I can do for sebaceous hyperplasia? Grania did some treatment on me for them but they return and spread…HELP!

    • Hi Evelyn, I’m so glad you’re enjoying your skin treatments with Julia. She is fabulous! As for Sebaceious Hyperplasia, through a lot of regular exfoliation including the use of a retinol product (our Advanced Resurfacing Serum) this may help prevent them but it’s simply the genetic nature of your skin. So you just have to keep having them removed, but they will always tend to come back unfortunately.

  6. Hi,
I absolutely love your blog and I’m too agree with your views and the most things you are mentioned here. I agree that many people aren’t aware what chemicals their products contain.
    Thanks
