So the first thing you need to think about is: what kind of trip is this? Are you flying somewhere that you have a special event such as a college reunion or wedding? Or going on a relaxing vacation where you’ll be parked on the beach? Or will you be going skiing in Colorado where you’ll be exposed to the cold, harsh elements of winter? Of course, the goal is always to have your skin look its best when traveling, but depending on the different climates and activities you’ll be participating in, your skin will have different needs so you need to take this into consideration… For ALL trips: the absolute essentials for every trip will always be your cleanser, toner, daytime sunscreen moisturizer, nighttime moisturizer and facial scrub. (I personally use my Daily Protection SPF 30 with ColoreScience mineral powder dusted on top.) If your skin is feeling tight and parched after a day in the skin, a post-sun cooling mask like Azulene Gel Mask or a hydrating serum using calming antioxidants like White Tea Soothing Complex can help deliver moisture to plump up skin cells while calming heat-induced redness. I especially love using Triple Berry Smoothing Peel a night or two before a special event because the acids really work to remove dead skin cell buildup, including those from airplane travel. Melissa Rycroft, of “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Bachelor,” used Triple Berry Smoothing Peel before her wedding in Mexico. Read: Got a Special Event?
