SKIN FACT: The eye area is the first sign to show aging.  The skin in this area is very thin and is subjected to repetitive facial movements like smiling and squinting that weaken collagen and elastin fibers. Obvious movements like smiling are inevitable, but if you’re concerned about preventing wrinkles, you’ll want to avoid unnecessary wear and tear to that area. This includes stretching, pulling and rubbing of the skin.

So when choosing between glasses or contacts, glasses are the better choice for preventing fine lines and wrinkles since inserting and removing prescription contacts forces you to pull at the skin in the process. So if  you’re very concerned about wrinkles around the eyes, glasses are the least disruptive option. If contacts are the best choice for you, be gentle when pulling on the skin and be sure to use eye cream  (like Renée Rouleau Synergy Eye Cream) morning and night to keep the eye area moist and protected.
