reneerouleau_frenchfacialSkin Care Tip of the Day: It’s a fact that a proper home care routine is essential in keeping your skin healthy and beautiful-looking. But when skin products at home don’t seem to be giving you the result you desire, it’s time seek the help of a professional to boost the results.

When to go see a pro?

For blackheads, the most effective way to remove them is to have monthly professional deep-pore cleansing facials. In a facial, the skin is exfoliated, softened by both steam and moisturizers and properly prepped to ensure painless and easy extractions. Then you can help to keep those pores cleaned out from professional peels and at-home exfoliants like Glycolic Acid

For clogged pores and breakouts, bacteria-reducing, deep-pore cleansing facials and regular chemical peels are extremely effective for getting the skin clearer with fewer blemishes.  Or try our famous Triple Berry Smoothing Peel for professional-strength results.

For  acne scars, laser treatments and chemical peels are the way to go. If you’re dealing with post-breakout red marks then peels will quickly improve that, but if you have actual indents in the skin from severe acne then lasers will best address those.

For deep lines and wrinkles, laser treatments, chemical peels, and injectables (Botox and Restylane) are the way to go. We also have our Bio Visage Lifting Treatment that tones the muscles of the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles in just one treatment.

For skin discoloration (brown spots), chemical peels and laser treatments are best, but you must be so careful. Since chemical peels can stimulate melanin activity, you don’t want to end up with post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation, a condition where you can develop brown spots post-peel (common in skin that already struggles with discoloration/brown spots). Our Vitamin C & E Complex must be used when going through these treatments to avoid these problems.

For rosacea, you must be careful with professional facials. Although facials (like our Redness Relief Facial) can be extremely calming for red skins, you must make sure that your esthetician has experience in caring for this very delicate type of skin. Avoid strong chemical peels that will only exacerbate redness.

For healthier, smoother skin, professional facials that include exfoliation peels are perfect.

For relaxation and pampering, there’s nothing like getting a facial, in a warm and cozy bed to get your mind relaxed and your skin glowing.

Take our survey- what is the main reason why you get a facial?

With any professional treatment, it’s best to schedule a thorough consultation to hear about the benefits, risks and side effects. Be sure to ask a lot of questions because knowledge is power.

  1. Thank you for this post.

I think I am at the point where a deep pore cleansing facial is in order. I am using all of my Renee Rouleau products diligently and conscientiously, but a professional treatment is in order.
