[...] Avoid dairy products if you’re prone to acne cysts. Many people have heard that greasy foods and chocolate cause breakouts. Breakouts, especially those that are cyst-like in the chin and jaw line area, most often are related to too much ice cream, yogurt, milk and cheese. Try cutting back and watch your skin clear up! Read more information about treating acne cysts. [...]

If someone has very severe cystic acne, it’s best to avoid the facial massage portion but everything else can be beneficial.

I have heard that people who develop cystic acne from time to time should not have facials. Is this true?

Hi Eileen,

This is definitely a different type of situation than cystic acne blemishes. Your doctors would be the ones to ask about that.

My oncologist and family doctor, I am 58, said I was cystic. I am going vegan, and my question was, do you have any thoughts on how this might effect these annoying lumps I have formed over the later years, in my jaw and legs and breast and upper arms. Some I have have removed surgically, and of course the breast ca I had a lumpectomy. Probably started out as a cyst that got dangerously infected. Thank you. Eileen Hutson

Hi Michelle,

There is obviously some kind of infection under there. Some cysts can eventually come to the surface, but most often they stay under and are very painful. But again, there is definitely infection and it's hard to say why you get them. You might try cutting out your dairy for two weeks just to see. Especially because you drink it daily. I also would highly recommend you get our Anti-Cyst because you can also use it on the skin as a preventative treatment in the areas you are prone to getting them.

Well i have had these bumps start forming recently... and yes i drink milk daily and i did start on Yaz 3 months ago and i also started dating someone after a long time not... so i was thinking it was just irritation from his stubble... but then we wouldn't see each other for a while and i would still get them days after we had last seen each other. I started to think they were cytic acne cuz i was told it can happen after starting BC pills due to the change in hormones. But... after reading that they don't form a whitehead i'm now more confused! could it just be and irritated hair folicule? cuz it does eventually come to a head but not really to the point of exposing unless pressure is added... i'm so confused..

[...] What you can do: Do not pick! Despite being sore, you’ll never get that infection out and if you attempt to, you’ll most certainly have a scar that will linger for months. The rule is: If a whitehead does not forms (which they never do if it’s a true cyst) then hands off! You have only two options. Use Anti-Cyst Treatment (a true miracle of a product) or schedule an appointment to get a cortisone injection by a dermatologist. Read more tips for cystic acne. [...]

Thanks for this... I never used to get cystic acne and I had a big idea that it started since I got on organic milk (I spent the last 3 years drinking only soy milk)... I'm willing to cut it out again, my problem is the lack of vitamins and minerals i'll be getting again (i'll have to go on supplements again) but i guess its a small price for nice skin

I'm sorry you still struggle with that, how frustrating! I wouldn't think the whey protein would cause this, but it's always worth cutting it out and see if there is improvement. It could certainly be hormonal for you and so using our Anti-Cyst Treatment a few nights a week along the jawline will really help prevent them.
