Most companies formulate eye creams with rich oils to compensate for the lack of oil glands around the eyes. Although this moisture is needed, the heavy oils can migrate into the eyes while you sleep and cause you puffiness when you wake up in the morning. The solution? Avoid the ingredients mineral oil and petroleum in your eye creams and don’t apply too close to the lower lash line. Another problem with heavy eye creams containing these ingredients is that the oils can weigh down the delicate skin tissue and over the course of time, can weaken elastin fibers causing premature wrinkles. The bottom line: Avoid eye creams that are extremely rich and greasy, especially those containing the ingredients mineral oil and petroleum. A better choice? Renée Rouleau eye creams, of course! Also, avoid applying petroleum jelly and pure oils to the eye area. A cream is much better than an actual oil. I totally agree with the “too heavy” eye cream. Once I tried something that was extremely rich because I had dry skin and I woke up with puffy eyes!! I returned it immediately. Definitely pick something that is lightweight.

I use baby oil on a qtip to remove left over eye makeup that my makeup remover couldn’t get rid of. I wipe with a tissue after and blot with oil blotting sheets. Is this bad @ possibly causing wrinkles?

Baby oil does contain mineral oil and so it’s a heavy oil. You’re better off with an oil-free eye makeup remover like our new one. http://www.reneerouleau.com/EyeMakeupRemover.aspx
